Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: February 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using SaltyPlanner (operated by SilverBacon), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Age Requirements: You must be at least 13 years old to use this app. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the app and that they have agreed to these terms on your behalf.

Changes to Terms: We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Subscriptions & Payments

Tiers: We offer Free, Ads, Silver, and Gold tiers with different features and limitations. Free tier allows up to 2 groups, Ads tier allows up to 3 groups, Silver tier allows up to 5 groups, and Gold tier allows up to 10 groups.

Billing: All payments are processed through the Google Play Store. We do not manage your credit card info. Subscription prices may vary by region and are subject to change with notice.

Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You will be charged the subscription fee to your Store account within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Cancellations: Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through your Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds: All purchases are final. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. Refund requests must be handled through the Google Play Store in accordance with their refund policies.

Subscription Upgrades and Downgrades: When upgrading to a higher tier, you will be charged a prorated amount immediately and gain access to the new tier right away. When downgrading to a lower tier, you will remain on your current tier until the end of your current billing period, then automatically switch to the new tier. No refunds are provided for downgrades.

Promo Code Usage Limits: Promo codes may have maximum usage limits set by us. When a promo code reaches its usage limit, it is automatically deleted from our system and can no longer be redeemed by any user. Each user can typically only redeem a specific promo code once, unless otherwise specified.

EU Consumer Rights: If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a subscription contract within 14 days of purchase, unless you have explicitly consented to immediate performance and acknowledged that you will lose your right of withdrawal. For ongoing subscriptions, you can cancel at any time as described in the Cancellations section above. If you have a complaint about our service, you can contact us at support@silverbacon.app or use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.

3. User Accounts & Data

Account Security: You are responsible for keeping your login credentials (Email/Google) secure and for all activities that occur under your account.

Password Requirements: Passwords must be at least 6 characters long. You are responsible for choosing a strong password and keeping it secure.

Email Verification: Email/password accounts must verify their email address before creating groups or joining groups. Google accounts are automatically verified. You can request a new verification email from the app settings.

Account Linking: If you create an account with email/password and later sign in with Google using the same email address, your accounts will be automatically linked. You can then use either authentication method to access your account.

Join Codes: Groups use 10-character join codes for invitations. Share the join code with people you want to invite to your group. Keep join codes private to control group membership.

Username Requirements: Usernames must be between 3 and 20 characters long and can only contain letters, numbers, and underscores. Usernames are not required to be unique.

Group Limits: Each group can have a maximum of 100 members. If a group reaches this limit, new members cannot join until existing members leave.

Group Name Length: Group names must be 40 characters or less. This limit helps ensure group names remain readable and manageable.

Vote Limits: Each group can have a maximum of 3 active votes at a time. You must complete or delete an existing vote before creating a new one.

Group Auto-Deletion: If all members leave a group, the group and all its associated data (events, availability, votes) are automatically deleted. This ensures that empty groups do not remain in our system.

Admin Role Transfer: If a group admin leaves the group, the admin role is automatically transferred to the next oldest member (by join date) to ensure the group always has an administrator.

Group Admin Capabilities: Group administrators have additional permissions, including the ability to remove members from the group, change member roles (promote or demote admins), and manage group settings. Admins are responsible for maintaining appropriate group behavior.

Calendar Export: You can export completed vote results to your device's calendar. This feature is provided for your convenience and does not grant us access to your calendar data.

Data Sharing: You agree that your username, availability, votes, group memberships, and events will be shared with the users you interact with in the app. Group admins have additional visibility into group membership and settings.

User-Generated Content: You are responsible for all content you create in the app, including group names, event titles, notes, and votes. You represent that you have the right to share this content and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

Prohibited Uses: You agree not to use the app to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Send spam, unsolicited messages, or malicious content
  • Impersonate others or provide false information
  • Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or data
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the app
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code

Account Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in prohibited activities, or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, you will lose access to your account and data.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the scheduling or voting data will always be 100% accurate or available. The app may experience downtime, errors, or data loss. We are not liable for any missed appointments, scheduling conflicts, or decisions made based on app data.

We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SilverBacon and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the app.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

Note for EU Consumers: For consumers in the European Union, nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer under EU consumer protection laws. Your rights to compensation for damages caused by our failure to perform our obligations remain unaffected.

6. Intellectual Property

All app code, designs, branding, and content belong to SilverBacon or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app without our written permission.

You retain ownership of content you create in the app (groups, events, votes), but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and display this content to provide the app's services.

7. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Spanish arbitration law, except where prohibited by law. For consumers in the European Union, you also have the right to bring claims before your local consumer protection authority or use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. You waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in class action lawsuits, except where such waivers are prohibited by law.
